Application for Employment

To submit an application for employment as a teacher or as a paraeducator, please click on View Job Postings to get started.

The Butler County Special Education Cooperative conducts employment background investigations as part of the process of considering your candidacy for employment.

 


 

Teacher Application and Interview Procedure


STEP 1 - The first step in our interview process is to submit a completed on-line application. Applicant files must be complete before a screening interview will be arranged. A completed file consists of:

  •  a completed on-line application
  •  college transcripts uploaded to application program
  •  credentials or three (3) letters of reference uploaded to application program

STEP 2 - The Special Education Office will contact selected applicants to schedule a screening interview. Screening interviews will begin in March and continue until the start of the school year.

STEP 3 - When an actual vacancy is announced, candidates will be selected and scheduled for additional interviewing. Candidates are chosen for finalist interviews by building level and Special Education administrators.

STEP 4 - The names of candidates recommended for employment will be placed before the Board of Education for final approval.

Paraeducator Application and Interview Procedure

 

STEP 1 - The first step in our employment process for a paraeducator position is to submit a completed on-line application

 

STEP 2 - Teachers who have openings will view applications on-line and contact applicants to schedule screening interviews. 

 

STEP 3 - After an interview, the teacher will select a candidate and will verbally offer the position to the applicant. The employment offer is contingent upon the applicant:

 

  • Passing the criminal background check, health physical, TB and drug tests.      Printable Physical/TB Paperwork here
  • Having a high school diploma or equivalent, and
  • Possessing a social security card or birth certificate and drivers license.

 

STEP 4 - Applicants chosen for employment will call the Cooperative Office at 316-775-6904 to schedule a time to complete paperwork. Once all the paperwork and pre hiring requirements are complete the applicants will be notified of their approved start date.
